Long distance

  • Difficult format for TV
  • Can work with a good startlist and 2 minutes start interval (not possible to make a good TV broadcast with 3 minutes start interval according to some TV people)
  • With 2 minutes start interval, a good red group (essential!) and good use of GPS tracking (journalistic value, focus on drama and story-telling), a good 90 minute live broadcast can be made from a long distance. Comment from NRK: Long distance was the distance which worked best in WOC 2010 in Trondheim because time to tell the story.
  • 2 minute start interval is also needed for re-live, because if not the broadcast will be “cut to pieces”. (i.e. every sequence must be edited - very slow process)
